LE HAVRE HAS TOP TWO YEAR OLD PROSPECTS IN AUGUST
The Haras de Montfort & Preaux’s Le Havre is a stallion who has an excellent record from his early crops produced at a fee from 5-7.000 euros. Le Havre’s two year olds of 2018 are the first to reach the track since his fee was raised to 20.000 euros in 2015.
During the month of August two fillies and a colt by Le Havre impressed as future stars for the the son of Noverre. Boitron, a colt out of the Verglas mare Belliflore, is trained by Richard Hannon for a partnership between Middleham Park Racing and Gerard Augustin Normand is now unbeaten in three starts including an easy victory in a Listed race at Newbury over seven furlongs in August. In France the fillies Montviette and Commes, both trained by Jean Claude Rouget for Augustin Normand, made winning debuts in Deauville. Monviette won the Prix des Marettes over 7 1/2 furlongs at the beginning of the month and Commes looked like a a future start when coming from last place to win the Prix La Reboursiere over a mile on August 21 to win by 3 lengths and 3 lengths. Both fillies were bred by their owner and Monviette is a daughter of the Listed winning American Post mare Lady Meydan while Comme’s dam, the Stormy River mare Lieupartie was a Group 3 winner in Deauville.
The Haras de Saint Pair is a shareholder in Le Havre and has two two year old colts, Glycon a son of Glorious Sight, and Urwald, a son of Waldjagd, in training with Andre Fabre. The stud also has a yearling filly and a colt foal by Le Havre out of Pearly Steph, a Listed winning daughter of Oasis Dream.
