Al Shaqab’s two year old filly Shagah confirmed the promise of her win at Goodwood at the end of July by finishing third, beaten only 1 1/2 lengths in total, in the Group 2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster on September 12th. The May Hill was one of the strongest races of the season so far for two year old fillies over a mile as the winner Agnes Steward had already been Group placed in Ireland and the second Muraaqaba had aleady won a Group race in Newmarket. Shagah, who was purchased s a yearling at the Goffs Orby sale for 280.000 euros must be a likely future Group/Stakes winner after this performance. By Invincible Spirit she is out of Propaganda, a daughter of Sadler’s Wells and the Haras de Saint Pair’s Prix Vermeille winner Pearly Shells.

The Haras de Saint Pair offers two yearlings from this family at the sales in Ireland and England. On October 1st at the Goffs Orby sale it is offering an Oasis Dream filly out of Pearl Banks, Lot 421 consigned by Abbeville and Meadow Court Studs. She is the second foal of Pearl Banks, a Group and multiple stakes winning daughter of Pivotal and Pearly Shells. Her first foal, a filly also by Oasis Dream, is called Pearly Steph and is in training for the Haras de Saint Pair with Freddy Head. On October 9 at Newmarket the Haras de Saint Pair is offering a Dubawi colt out of Peary Shells, Lot 441 presented by Stauffenberg Bloodstock.
