PANGAEA BREAKS HIS MAIDEN IN DEAUVILLE

After a couple on unlucky runs in handicaps Pangaea, a three year old Anodin gelding owned in partnership by the Haras de Saint Pair and the Haras de la Gousserie, broke his maiden in a conditions race on the all weather in Deauville over 1900 metres on August 5th. Pangaea, who is trained by Philippe Decouz, now has one win and two places from seven starts and earnings of 39.000€.

Pangaea is the 12th and final foal produced by Saint Pair’s Prix Vermeille winner and foundation mare Pearly Shells. Pearly Shells produced nine winners headed by the Group 3 winner Pearl Banks, Listed winner Pearls or Passion and the stakes/Group performers Smile Makers and Pearly Avenue. Pearl Banks is the dam of the Group 1 winner Pearls Galore and her yearling filly by Kingman will be offered at the Arqana August sale this year. Pearly Shells’ other descendants include Group winners Pelligrina, Eternal Pearl and Lucky Lycra.
