PEARLS GALORE GETS READY FOR GROUP 1’S
The Haras de Saint Pair’s Pearls Galore finished second in the Group 2 1400 metre Romanised Minstrel Stakes at The Curragh on July 17th, beaten by the Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Order of Australia with another high class colt Dr Zempf behind her in third. Since moving to Paddy Twomey’s Golden yard as a three year old Pearls Galore has six wins and five places from 13 starts for earnings of £343.000. The five year old daughter of Invincible Spirit has won a Group 2, two Group 3’s and a Listed and has finished second in Group 1 races in Ireland and in France, and now a Group 2 in Ireland. The plan is to go next for the Group 1 Prix Rothschild in Deauville at the beginning of August when she will once more be racing against fillies and mares.
Pearls Galore is one of three black type winners produced by Pearl Banks and her half sister include the stakes winner Pearly Steph who is the dam of Eternal Pearl, the winner of a Listed race at Newmarket in July 16th. Pearl Banks has a filly foal by Kingman and is in foal to Galiway.
