PEARLS GALORE TO BE OFFERED AT TATTERSALLS DECEMBER SALE
The Haras de Saint Pair’s Pearls Galore, the brilliant winner of the Group 1 Coolmore America Justify Matron Stakes on her latest start, is to be offered at the Tattersalls December Breeding Stock sale. She will be presented by her trainer Paddy Twomey.
The five year old daughter of Invincible Sprit and the Pivotal mare Pearl Banks has run 17 times over four seasons for 7 wins and 5 places and earnings of £550.000. Aside from her Matron Stakes win she is also the winner of the Group 2 Lanwades Stud Stakes and the Group 3 Fairy Bridge and Brownstown Stakes, as well as finishing second in the Group 1 Matron Stakes and Prix de la Foret.
She is a descendant of the great broodmare Selene, the dam of Hyperion, and this family has been at Saint Pair since her grand dam, the Prix Vermeille winner Pearly Shells retired to the farm. Aside from Pearls Galore the farm has produced a string of high class winners from this family including the Group winning fillies Pearls Banks, Lucky Lycra and this year’s three year old Frankel filly Eternal Pearl. Other top winners from this family in recent years include the Classic winners St Mark Basilica, Magna Grecia, Sariska, Beauty Parlour and Mosheen.
Saint Pair is still breeding from Pearls Galore’s dam Pearl Banks and her half sisters Pearly Steph and Pearls Angel and Pearl Bank’s Kingman filly foal will also be retained with a view to breeding in the future.
Andreas Putsch commented:
‘Pearls Galore has everything you could want in a broodmare prospect. A May foal she has progressed throughout her career putting up an exceptional performance on her last start to beat three other Group 1 fillies by 3 lengths and more in the Coolmore Justify Matron Stakes. Over four seasons racing Pearls Galore proved herself again and again to be tough, consistent and very gifted. She is sound and healthy after 17 career starts. She comes from a great family we have had at Saint Pair since her grand dam Pearly Shells won the Prix Vermeille but which also includes the Classic winners St Mark’s Basilica, Magna Grecia, Sariska and Beauty Parlour. She has no Sadler’s Wells, Danehill or Mr Prospector in her pedigree and will be attractive cross for most of the world’s best stallions.’
