PEARLS OR PASSION TO BE OFFERED FOR SALE IN NEWMARKET

Pearls or Passion, a Listed winning daughter of Monsun and the Champion filly Pearly Shells, will be offered for sale as a racing and breeing prospect at the Newmarket December sale on Tuesday, December 3rd. The Haras de Saint Pair home bred four year old filly will be presented as a Wild Card by European Sales Management as the last lot in its draft on Tuesday evening.

Pearls or Passion and Monblue, who is being offered by the Haras de Saint Pair at the Deauville December sale, are the only black type winning daughters of the great German sire Monsun to be offered at public auction this year. Monsun’s last crop are currently foals, and although he stood at the equivalent of 5,000 euros for his first five years at stud, until his profile was transformed by international champions like Shirocco and Manduro, the daughters from these first seasons have already produced five Group 1 winners and four Group 2 winners.

Pearls or Passion has three wins and three seconds in eight career starts to date for earnings of 106,000 euros. On her last start on October 11 she won the Listed Prix Panacee in Toulouse over 2400 metres beating, among others, Frine, the winner of a Group 3 on the track on November 11. This season Pearls or Passion has also finished close to the Gr 1 fillies Romantica, Fitful Skies and Andoya in Group races in Chantilly and Baden Baden.

Her dam Pearly Shells won five of her six career starts at three including the Group 1 Prix Vermeille, the Group 2 Prix de Malleret and Group 3 Prix de la Nonette and was Champion Three Year Old Filly in France. Her first six foals are all winners and include the Group 3 winner Pearls Banks as well as Pearls Or Passion. She has an unraced two year colt by Oasis Dream and a colt foal by Dubawi.
