GLAER WINS HIS LISTED FOR NEW TRAINER

Glaer, a seven year old gelded son of Siyouni and Glorious Sight,  won the Listed Prix Lyphard in Deauville on November 26th over 1900 metres on his first start for new trainer Pierre Groualle. The Haras de Saint Pair’s gelding was settled just behind the leaders by Christophe Soumillon and in a slowly run race he showed great pace to pass the early leaders in the straight and win by a neck and a neck for Merkur and Long Ago. This was Glaer first start for ten months and took his overall record to nine wins and six places from 2 starts and earnings of 254.000€. After trying all weather tracks for the first time at the end of his four year old career Glaer has developed into one of the best all weather specialists in France. On artificial surfaces Glaer has six wins and two places, both in Listed races, from ten starts.

Glaer is the second Group/stakes winner produced by Glorious Sight who is also dam of Glycon, the winner of the Group 2 Grand Prix de Deauville and placed in the Group 1 Prix Royal Oak. Her winning daughters Girl Friday and Glad Eye are both part of the Saint Pair broodmare band while her yearling Wootton Bassett filly has been retained in partnership and will go into training in France. She has a filly foal by Victor Ludorum and is currently in foal to Ace Impact.
