GOLIGHTLY BREAKS HER MAIDEN AT PARISLONGCHAMP

Golightly broke her maiden n her first start at three when bravely holding on to deadheat with Godolphin’s Montemesola in a 1600 metre maiden race at ParisLongchamp on April 18th. Owned by the Haras de Saint Pair in partnership with Michel Zerolo and Jean Louis Branere the three year old Frankel filly followed Montemesola through the early part of a slowly run race and then accelerated in the straight to take a narrow lead, which finished as a deadheat when the Godolphin filly fought back and the pair went passed the post together.

The Jean Claude Rouget trained filly had shown promise on two starts at two but looks to have progressed over the winter and did well to share the win with a filly who had the benefit of a race this year. Golightly is the third winner from three live foals produced by her dam the Pivotal mare Girl Friday and she is a half sister to the Saint Pair mare Girl Gone Wild who won two of her four career starts. Girl Friday is like the Group 2 winner Glycon and Listed placed performer Glaer a daughter of Glorious Sight,  who was placed in both the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches and the Prix de Diane. Girl Friday has a No Nay Never yearling colt and is currently in foal to New Bay. Saint Pair sold another daughter of Glorious Sight, the four year old Siyouni filly Gypsy Gold to VI Araci in an Arqana on line sale earlier this year.
