KODIAC IS A TOP TWO YEAR OLD SIRE
For the second season in a row Kodiac is the leading two year old sire in England and Ireland. Tally Ho Stud’s Danehill half brother to Invincible Spirit started off his stud career as a 5.000 euros horse and was not even particularly popular at that price. The winner of only two handicaps from ten starts his best racecourse performance came when 4th to Marchand d’Or in the Gr 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest in 2006. However his early crops made Kodiac’s reputation and since 2011 he has been covering large books of mares at a fee which was up to 10.000 euros for 2014.
The results have mainly been two year old winners. In 2013 Kodiac sied 33 two year olds winners of 48 races, and this season he ison target to do even better. Two winners on May 16, including the first two in a Listed race at York, took his tally to nine 2014 juvenile winners. The Listed winning filly Patience Alexander is out of a Sadler’s Wells mare.
The Haras de Saint Pair has a yearling colt by Kodiac out of the Galileo mare Namibia.Namibia was an unbeaten stakes winner herself and is a daughter of the German Champion Two Year Old filly Narooma.
