SAINT PAIR DRAFT AT ARQANA DECEMBER
The Haras de Saint Pair is presenting four in foal mares and two fillies at the Arqana Breeding Stock sale which runs from 8-11 December. The draft includes the five year old stakes placed Dubawi mare La Patria, in foal to Kodiac.
La Patria won over 1700 metres and was placed twice in six starts for Godolphin and trainer Andre Fabre. Second on her only start at two over 1600 she broke her maiden by 7 lengths and was then beaten only a length in a Listed race over 1600, coming with a late run and finishing fastest of all on good ground. She was officially rated 97. She is half sister to two stakes producing mares including Babylonian whose son Santry was one of the best two year olds in the UK in 2017. Santry won his first two starts before finishing a close second behind the G1 winner Sioux Nation in the G2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. He was killed in a training accident before racing again. La Patria has no inbreeding in five generations and has neither Sadler’s Wells nor Danehill in her pedigree and so is suitable mare for most leading stallions in Europe.
The unraced three year Fangs is also in foal to Kodiac. She is a full sister to the G1 winner Kitten’s Dumplings and two other stakes winners Granny’s Kitten and Granny Mc’s Kitten and comes from the family of Fanghorn which includes several G1 performing two year olds. The Oasis Dream mare Next Life and the Invincible Spirit mare Pearly Spirit are both offered in foal to Vadamos. Next Life comes from the family of Miesque and Alpha Centauri while her dam is a half sister to the dam of leading 2018 three year old Old Persian a dual G2 winner in Britain. Pearly Spirit is a half sister to the stakes winner Pearly Steph from the family of champion filly Pearly Shells.
