ADMIRE MARS RETIRES TO SHADAI FARM

Admire Mars retires to Shadai Farm for the 2021 covering season. The son of Daiwa Major and Via Medici was a Group 1 winner at 2 and Champion two year old in Japan. He won two more Group 1’s over 1600 at three, the NHK Mile Cup in Tokyo and the Hong Kong Mile at Sha Tin. He finished his career with third places in the Group 1 Mile Championship at Hanshin and the Hong Kong Mile retiring with 4 wins and 4 places from 11 career start and earnings of more than 4 million euros for his owners first Riichi and then Junko Kondo.

Via Medici was bred and raced by Saint Pair and won the Group 3 Prix de Lieurey in the stud’s colours. Saint Pair sold her to Northern Farm at the 2014 Arqana December sale in foal to Dansili for 480.000€. Saint Pair retains her dam Via Milano, who has a filly foal by Lope de Vega, her half sister Via Manzoni, who has a filly foal by Shamardal, as well as her daughter Via Pisa, who has a colt foal by Kingman. Via Milano, who is about to turn twenty, is one of the stud’s foundation mares and produced the top race filly Via Ravenna who died as a three year old as well as Via Medici and Via Manzoni.
