AL AASY HEADS FOR THE DERBY

Al Aasy, a three year old son of Sea The Stars and Kitcara, will head for the Derby at Epsom after breaking his maiden by 10 lengths at Newmarket on June 18th. Trained by William Haggas for Hamdan Al Maktoum Al Aasy was sold for 300.000 guineas at the October 1 sale in Newmarket by Mount Coote Stud.

Kitcara was bred by the Haras de Saint Pair and won at Maisons Laffitte over 2000 metres as a three year old carrying the stud’s colours when trained by Francois Rohaut. She achieved a rating of 92 on her final start when finishing fifth in a Listed race. She was sold out of training at the 2015 Arqana December sale to Kern Lillingston for 120.000 euros. Her second foal, a full sister to Al Aasy,  was sold to Mandore International at the 2019 October 1 yearling sale for 500.000 guineas.

Kitcara is a daughter of the Monsun mare Kitcat who prodcued four winners including the Group/stakes performers Kapour and Kitkatie. Her last foal Kitkitty, a three year old daughter of Olympic Glory, is in training with Fabrice Vermeullen for the Haras de Saint Pair.
