
STAKES WIN FOR GUILDSMAN IN USA
Qatar racing’s Guildsman was an easy 3 length winner of the Tom Ridge Stakes over 1200 metres at Presque Ile Downs on August 10th. The three year old Wootton Bassett gelding now has 2 wins and 4 places from ten career starts and earnings of $110.000. At two Guildsman was a debut winner and was placed third in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and second in the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes at The Curragh. Now trained by Brendan Walsh he has a win and two places from four starts in the USA.
Guilsdman is the first foal of the Street Cry mare Dardiza who comes from the family of the Champion Almanzor. Dardiza’s two year old filly Isle of White is owned by Peter Brant and trained by Jean Claude Rouget and was second on her debut at Chantilly. She has a filly foal by Zoustar and is in foal to Kingman.
Guildsman was sold as a yearling by Saint Pair for 67.000 euros to Church Farm who sold him on to David Redvers at the Arqana Breeze Up for 110.000 euros.
