GLAER IMPRESSES AGAIN IN MARSEILLE

Glaer won the eigth race of his career in brilliant style at Marseille Vivaux on May 26th coming from well off a slow early pace to race past his rivals in the final 200 metres to win very easily indeed by a length under John Bernard Eyquem. Glaer, Saint Pair’s homebred son of Siyouni and Glorious Sight nowhas eight wins nd four places from fifteen career starts and earnings of 183.000€. Glaer made his debut at two for the John Gosden stable and was then off the track for more than eighteen months before returning as a four year old for John Claude Rouget. Glaer has proved to be particularly effective on all weather tracks and on this surface he has five wins a second and a fourth in seven starts. Under Rouget’s care Glaer’s official rating has gone from 28 kilos to 45 in a two year period.

Glorious Sight was placed herself in both the Poule d’Easai des Pouliches and the Prix de Diane. Her first five foals are all winners and include the Saint Pair mares Girl Friday and Glad Eye as well as Glycon, a Le Havre gelding who was a multiple Group winner and Group 1 placed in the colours of Saint Pair where he is currently enjoying his retirement. Her three year old Gypsy Gold, a full sister to Glaer, showed plenty of promise at two and is due to make her first appearance this year in the coming weeks having recovered from a minor setback. Glorious Sight’s two year old Le Havre filly belongs to Al Shia’aa Farms and she has a Wootton Bassett filly foal and was covered this year by Victor Ludorum.
