tack

year after she had been sold by the Haras de Saint Pair at the Goffs Orby yearling sale Golden Pearl, a daughter of Oasis Dream and Pearl Banks, made a winning debut at Fairyhouse on September 29.

Trained by Mick Halford for M.J.Enright Golden Pearl was held up and then made a challenge at the same time as the Jim Bolger trained favourite Clear Cut. This pair quickened away from their rivals with Golden Pearl holding on to win by a short head and they finished 3 3/4 lenths clear of the other 14 runners.

Pearl Banks, a Group winner herself over 2200 metres, is the dam of the 1600 metre Listed winner Pearly Steph and Golden Pearl, a winner over 1200 on her debut. She has a filly foal by Invincible Spirit and is in foal to Olympic Glory. Pearl Banks is a Pivotal daughter of the Prix Vermeille winner Pearly Shells.
