LOVE VEGA BREAKS MAIDEN WITH STYLE
Love Vega broke her maiden impressively on her second career start over 950 metres at Marseilles Borely on April 24th. The two year old daughter of Lope de Vega and Fifth Commandment was held up in last place before quickening past her rivals in the straight to win unchallenged by 2 1/2 lengths. A promising second on her debut in Lyon three weeks earlier Love Vega is trained by Marc Pimbonnet for Fabrice Petit.
Pimbonnet and Petit bought Love Vega for 150.000 euros from Ballylinch Stud at the 2018 Arqana August sale. She is the second winner produced by Fifth Commandment, a stakes placed daughter of the Haras de Saint Pair’s mare Via Milano. Via Milano is the dam of the Group winners Via Medici and Via Ravenna and is also the second dam of the Japanese Champion two year old of 2018 Admire Mars. Via Milano’s 2017 Lope de Vega colt was sold for 140.000 guineas to PJ O’Gorman at the 2018 October 2 sale in Newmarket and she visits Lope de Vega again this year. Via Manzoni, a Group placed daughter of Via Milano, has a two year old filly by Lope de Vega called Via Liguria who is in training with Andre Fabre for the Haras de Saint Pair.
