LUCKY LYCRA STEPS UP AT FONTAINEBLEAU

Al Shaqab’s Lucky Lycra broke her maiden on her first start at three over 2200 metres at Fontainebleau on March 7th. Trained by Francois Rohaut she had shown something on two juvenile starts but looked a far more promising performer on this her first start over a longer trip making all the running to win comfortably in the end.

Lucky Lycra was sold by the Haras de Saint Pair for 145.000 euros at the 2017 Arqana October yearling sale. She is a half sister to the stakes winner Pearly Steph and a granddaughter of the champion Pearly Shells. Her dam the Pivotal mare Pearl Banks was a Group winner over 2200 metres. She has a two year old filly by Invincible Spirit, Pears Galore, who is in training with Freddy Head for Saint Pair, and is currently in foal to Dark Angel.
