MAXIMIAN BREAKS MAIDEN AT DONCASTER

Maximian got off the mark on his second career start at Doncaster on April 30th. The son of Shamardal was bought by John Ferguson at the 2014 Tattersalls October yearling sale for 370.000 guineas. Narrowly beaten on his debut by the subsequent Group performer Dream Dubai Maximian held the sustained chalenge of Foresight to win a maiden over six furlongs by a short head, and the pair pulled well clear of their rivals.

Maximian is the sixth winner from six foals produced by the Singspiel mare Via Milano. Her earlier foals include the Group winner Via Medici and the Group/stakes performers Via Manzoni and Fifth Commandment. Via Milano has a two year old Raven’s Pass filly who is retained and in training with Andre Fabre. She has a colt yearling by Mastercraftsman and visits Lope de Vega
