VADAMOS REALLY IS A TOP HORSE
On his eleventh career start the Haras de Saint Pair’s Vadamos finally showed his true worth at Saint Cloud on May 1st. The home bred son of Monsun had looked very good when winning a Group 2 over a mile at Baden Baden last September but things had not gone right for him at either Ascot or Meydan since.
The Prix du Muguet over 1600 was very much his race. Always close to the lead uner jockey PC Boudot he quickened into a clear lead early in the straight and was never in any danger thereafter. At the line the Andre Fabre trained colt was no less than 3 1/2 lengths ahead of the multiple Group 1 winner Erveyda with another proven Group 1 performer Mr Owen close up in third.
This was a commanding performance and the son of Monsun looks to be one of the best milers in Europe, and set for a profitable five year old campaign. His dam Celebre Vadala has a two year old colt Volfango who has been retained, and a yearling colt by Pour Moi. She is currently in foal to New Approach and visits Gleneagles.
