PAREO WINS IN DEAUVILLE

Pareo19-8

PAREO, a four year old son of Galileo and the Prix de Vermeille winner Pearly Shells, was an easy winner of the 1600 metres Prix de Doumy in Deauville on Sunday August 19. The Alain de Royer Dupre trained colt, who runs in the colours of Andreas Putsch, has now two wins and ten places from twelve career starts for total earnings of 110,356 euros. The first five of Pearly Shells’ foals are already winners including the Group winner Pearl Banks and then both Pareo and her three year old Monsun filly Pearls Or Passion look ready to win stakes races in the near future.

Pareo has been fourth in two Listed races already this year but looks to be improving and this easy win should give the colt confidence before returning to stakes class. Pearls Or Passion was second on her last start to the subsequent Deauville Listed winner Only A Pleasure and the Francois Rohaut trained filly is entered in the Group 3 Mercedes Benz Stuten Preis over 2,200 metres at Baden Baden on September 1. Pearly Shells has a two year old Anabaa filly Pearly Avenue in trained with Rohaut as well and then an Oasis Dream colt foal and is in foal to Dubawi.
