PEARLY STEPH JUST HELD AT CHANTILLY

Volterra

The Haras de Saint Pair’s Pearly Steph was beaten only by a nose in the Listed Prix Volterra at Chantilly on May 8. The three-year-old daughter of Oasis Dream had been fifth in the Group 3 Prix de la Grotte on her previous start and once again confirmed her class.

After missing the break the Freddy Head trained filly was last coming into the straight and quickened past most of the field but could never quite get her head in front of the longtime leader Night of Light who held on to win by a nose. This pair came away from the remainder and look like two Group class fillies.
