ROERO TAKES GRAND HANDICAP
Roero showed speed and courage to take the Grand Handicap des Milers at Longchamp on May 12. The Haras de Saint Pair’s four year son of Acclamation now has 5 wins and 4 places from 13 starts for career earnings of 168,201 euros.
Roero is the first foal of Ricine who won Group races at Orevoll and Baden Baden over 6 1/2 and 7 furlongs. Ricine has an unraced three year old Pivotal filly called Porthilly who is in training with John Hammond.
After winning a major handicap off a rating of 43 kilos or 95lbs Roero is likely to pursue his career in stakes races and his trainer Francois Rohaut suggested after the race that he may go to Orevoll in Norway to try to win the same Group race as his dam at the beginning of August.
