ROERO WINS HIS ‘B’

tack

The Saint Pair bred three year old gelding Roero won his third race of the season at Toulouse on June 15. The son of Acclamation and the Group winning sprinter Ricine broke his maiden over 6 ½ furlongs at Cagnes in January before winning a ‘D’ race at the same track over a mile in February. Returning from a three month break Roero narrowly but surely beat two paternal siblings in La Haye and On Call Now to win a ‘B’ race over a mile, this time on good turf rather than the all weather track he had raced on successfully earlier in the year. Roero looks like becoming at least a stakes class performer over a mile, and is likely to improve with age as his dam reached her peak as a five year old.

Ricine produced only two foals, Roero and a two year old Pivotal filly who is in training at Chantilly with John Hammond.
