SAINT PAIR AMONG LEADING BREEDERS IN FRANCE
Three winners in two days in early November, and then new stakes and group performances from Via Firenze and Subway Dancer took the Haras de Saint Pair into fifth place in the French breeders table ranked by prizemoney won. By mid November the 28 Saint Pair breds to have raced in France had won 28 races and 954.000 euros, headed by the Group 1 performers Trais Fluors and Via Ravenna. The four breeders ranked higher, the Wertheimer brothers, the Aga Khan, the Ecurie des Monceaux and Gerard Augustin-Normand’s Franklin Finance have all had more than double the number of runners.
Via Firenze, sold as a yearling by Saint Pair at Baden Baden in September, won a stakes race at Clairfontaine in August and has now been Group placed three times this year following her third place in the Group 3 Prix de Fille de l’Air at Toulouse on November 11th. Subway Dancer followed up his second place in the Group 2 Prix Dollar at Chantilly in October with an excellent third place under a big penalty in the Listed Grand Prix de Marseilles on November 12th.
Saint Pair breds Nuwaies and Summer Eve both won at Bordeaux on November 7th, and then the following day Westwald made it three wins in two days when recording his second win of the season on the all weather in Chantilly.
