SAINT PAIR SELLS GOOD MARES

Never Back Down, a three year old Kodiac gelding trainer by Hugo Palmer, became the latest stakes winner out of a mare sold by the Haras de Saint Pair. The son of the Pivotal mare Steer By The Stars won a six furlong Listed race at Newbury on May 19th to take his career record to three wins and a second place from seven starts and earnings of £58.000. Never Back Down is the first foal of his dam who was purchased privately by Saint Pair and sold for 160.000 guineas to John Foote Bloodstock at the Newmarket December sale.

Other good recent three year old winners out of mares sold by Saint Pair include the Dansili colt Freccia, a son of Via Medici, winner of his last two starts in Japan, and Lady Athena, a daughter of Redoute’s Choice and Monblue, who is heading for the Prix de Diane after winning at Chantilly on May 18th.
