SATOMI’S BROTHER IMPRESSES AT DONCASTER

The Haras de Saint Pair purchased the four year old Teofilo filly Satomi at the 2020 Arqana December sale. Satomi was trained by Markus Klug and retired with 3 wins and 3 places from 15 starts including the Gr 2 Grosser Hansa Preis and the Listed Hein Bollow Memorial. She was a winner at 2 and at 4 from 1200m to 2400m and was placed in the G2 Diana Trial and G3 Schwartzgold Rennen as well as finishing 4th in G1 Preis der Diana.

Satomi, was bred by Gestut Wittekindshof and is out of the Haafhd mare Swordhalf who was champion two year old filly in Germany in 2012 and the winner of the G3 Preis der Winterkonigin. Swordhalf is the dam of four winners from her first four foals including the Listed winner Sword Peinture and Satomi,  as well as Sword Spirit, a winner at three in England in 2020, and George Peabody, a three year old Holy Roman Emperor gelding belonging to the Gredley family.

George Peabody broke his maiden on his second career start and his first at three with an easy 3 1/4 length win at Doncaster on March 27th over 1400 metres. The George Scott trained gelding had been fourth on his only start at two.

Swordhalf has a two year old Mastercraftsman filly called Sword Miss who is in training with Markus Klug for Gestut Wittekindshof. Sword Peinture has a colt foal by Mastercraftsman, while Satomi is currently in foal to Lope de Vega.
