MITHRAS MAKING WINNING SEASONAL REAPPEARANCE

Mithras made a winning seasonal reappearance over 1400 metres at Newbury on April 16th. After chasing the early leaders the son of Dubawi made ground under Frankie Dettori to pass the long time leader Saint Lawrence in the closing stages to win narrowly but comfortably by a neck. This pair drew 2 lengths clear of their 14 rivals in what is traditionally a very competitive handicap for three year olds.

Mithras now has 2 wins from 4 starts having broken his maiden over 1600 on his final run as a two year old. The son of Dubawi is the first foal of the Classic placed mare Irish Rookie, who is currently in foal to Blue Point.
