VIA MANZONI MAKES WINNING DEBUT

Via Manzoni

Via Manzoni, a two year old Monsun filly out of Via Milano made an impressive winning debut over 1400 metres at Chantilly on July 17th. Always prominent she quickened in the final 200 metres under a gentle ride from Maxime Guyon to win by 3/4 length and 3/4 length from Sister Dam’s and Vianella, who had both run before. She is the first winner and the first runner trainer Andre Fabre has saddled for the Haras de Saint Pair.

Via Milano is now the dam of five winners from five runners and six foals of racing age including the Group winner Via Medici, the stakes performers Fifth Commandment and the very useful three year old Corso Como who is due to make his next start in a stakes race after completing a hattrick of wins in a Tierce Handicap at Longchamp on June 19. Via Milano’s yearling colt by Shamardal will be offered at Tattersalls October 2 sale. She has a filly foal by Raven’s Pass and is in foal to Mastercraftsman.
