AFFOGATO BREAKS MAIDEN IN COMPIEGNE

The Haras de Saint Pair’s Affogato broke his maiden on his second career start holding on bravely to win a maiden race over 1400 at Compiegne by a head and a neck from Masetto and Septems. Trained by Jean Claude Rouget and ridden by Cristian Demuro the son of Siyouni had shown promise on his debut over a longer trip and put up a useful performance here to beat two far more experienced rivals.

Affogato was bought for 110.000 euros by Ted Voute at the 2017 Arqana October yearling sale from the Haras de Capucines. He is the second winner from the first three foals of his dam Almilea, a daughter of Galileo and the German Oaks winner Almerita.
