EASY WIN FOR SMILE MAKERS

The Haras de la Gousserie’s Smile Makers made all the running for a comfortable 3 length win over 2000 metres at Fontainebleau on April 24th. The three year old son of Kendargent and the champion Pearly Shells now has two wins and five places from seven career starts with earnings of 75.739€.

Smile Makers is the eleventh foal and eigth winner produced by the Group 1 Prix Vermeille winner Pearly Shells, and the tenth black type performer she and her daughters have produced so far. Sold by the Haras de Saint Pair through Hubert Honore at the Osarus yearling sale in La Teste for 80.000€ Smile Makers was second in the Listed Prix Delhante at two. Pearly Shells has a yearling colt by Anodin. After this easy win in which he quickened impressively after setting a slow early pace, he ran the final 400 metres 18% faster than the race average, the Frederic Ross trained colt looks ready to go back into stakes company. He is entered in the Prix du Jockey-Club and the Grand Prix de Paris.
