FRECCIA TAKES TOKYO ALLOWANCE

Freccia, a three year old Dansili colt out of Via Medici won his second consecutive race with a decisive 1 1/2 length victory in a 1400 allowance race at Tokyo on May 13th. Ridden once again by Christophe Lemaire Freccia was always prominent and quickening into the lead early in the straight he  held the late challenge of his market rival Omega Ravissiant to win comfortably.

Freccia now has two wins and two places from four career starts and earnings of 16.300.300 yen (125.000 euros). The Haras de Saint Pair lost the Group 1 filly Via Ravenna, a half sister to Via Medici, last year but has retained Via Medici’s daughter Via Pisa as well as Via Medici’s half sister Via Manzoni. Another daughter of Via Milano, the Lawman mare Via Ballycroy, also has a useful three year old as Chimney Rock her 2015 Rock Of Gibraltar colt is unbeaten in two starts for trainer Andreas Wohler and is currently 25-1 in the ante post betting for the German Derby.
