GARAIYBA BREAKS MAIDEN AT LA TESTE
The Aga Khan’s Garaiyba broke her maiden with a decisive 2 length victory over 1900 metres at La Teste on May 10th. The three year old Dalakhani filly becomes the fourth winner produced by her dam Grand Vadla, who belongs to the Haras de Saint Pair.
Trained by Jean Claude Rouget Garaiyba showed considerable promise at two when second to the subsequent Group winner Soleil Marin in Deauville in October (photo). At La Teste Garaiyba was always prominent and quickened into a clear lead at the top of the straight. Grand Vadla has a yearling filly by Olympic Glory and a colt foal by Le Havre. She visits Wootton Bassett in 2017. Grand Vadla was a stakes winner herself and comes from the family of numerous top horses including Vadamos, Valyra, Val Royal and many others.
