GREEN FLY OFF THE MARK AT SAINT CLOUD

GREEN FLY OFF THE MARK AT SAINT CLOUD

Jean Louis Bouchard’s Green Fly broke his maiden on his second start over 1400 metres at Saint Cloud on June 21st. The son of Frankel and Via Pisa was bumped soon after the start and pushed back to the rear of the field so he and Christian Demuro came into the straight well behind their main rivals. The Jean Claude Rouget trained colt quickened well to pass the field and then held on well when challenged by Haya Zark in the final stages to win by a head,  with the remainder 3 1/2 lengths and more further behind.

Green Fly is the second foal and first winner produced by Via Pisa, a Listed winning daughter of Pivotal who was Group 1 placed on her final career start over 2000 metres. She has a Kingman yearling colt who will be offered at the Arqana August sale and is back in foal to Frankel. Via Pisa is a half sister to the Japanese Champion Admire Mars who stands at Shadai Farm Arrowfield Stud. Saint Pair is still breeding from Via Milano, the third dam of Green Fly and also has Via Manzoni, a half sister to the dam of Admire Mars.
