WALDBIENE MAKES WINNING DEBUT

Waldbiene made a winning start to her career over 2000 metres at Compiegne on June 26th. Stall Grafenberg’s daughter of Intello and Wladjagd was held up off a slow early pace before quickening impressively in the final 400 metres to win easily by 2 1/2 lengths and 2 lengths in a race for unraced three year olds. Trained in Cologne by Waldemar Hickst Waldbiene was bred by Saint Pair and sold as a yearling at the Arqana August sale for 110.000€.

Waldbiene is the fifth living foal and fifth winner produced by Waldjagd, who is also the dam of the Listed winner Urwald. Waldjagd was sold for 200.000€ at the 2020 Arqana December sale carrying a colt by Kingman. Waldbiene is the eighth winner from the thirteen foals bred by Saint Pair in 2018, and the sixth from the nine who were offered for sale as yearlings.
