LA GALIOTE BREAKS MAIDEN ON SECOND START
La Galiote, a three year old Zoustar filly out of Dardiza, broke her maiden on her second career start with an easy 2 1/2 length win over 1600 metres at Pau on January 9th. Owned by Fairway Thoroughbreds and trained by Christophe Ferland La Galiote had been a promising fourth in Deauville on her only previous start.
La Galiote is third foal and third winner produced by her dam whose son Guildsman was a Graded stakes winner and finished third in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Ascot on his second start. Her half sister Isle of White was a winner at Belmont for Peter Brant and Chad Brown. Her two year old half brother by Kingman was sold at Arqana to Oliver St Lawrence last August and is now in training with William Haggas. Dardiza is currently in foal to Wootton Bassett. La Galiote was, like her earlier siblings, sold as a yearling in Deauville in August and was purchased by de Burgh Equine for 135.000€.
