MANASAROVA STAKES PLACED ON SEASONAL DEBUT

Okana-Manasarova

Manasarova (right in photo) was placed second in the Listed Prix Ronde de Nuit at Chantilly on March 17 over 1300. The three year old daughter of More Than Ready was making her first start in the colours of the Haras de Saint Pair having been purchased after breaking her maiden in Deauville last November.

Ridden by Olivier Peslier Manasarova quickened impressively to take the lead with 300 metres to run but couldn’t hold the late challenge of Okana and finished second 3/4 length behind the Wertheimer brothers’ filly. Those further behind included the stakes winners Venecia Style and Aim To Please and the first two looks to be serious prospects for the Classic season.

Manasarov is trained by Fabrice Chappet and was bred in the USA by Eureka Thoroughbred Farm. She is the second foal and second winner out of the unraced Mr Greeley mare Manaahil, who is a half sister to the G1 performer Shakis from the family of Glorious Song.
