MAXIMIAN MAKES PROMISING DEBUT FOR GODOLPHIN

Godolphin’s Maximian,sold by the Haras de Saint Pair for 370.000 guineas at the 2014 October 1 yearling sale, made a promising debut to be second in a six furlong maiden at Lingfield on April 9th.

Trained by Charlie Appleby for Godolphin the son of Shamrdal and Via Milano was making his career debut as a three year old. Always racing wide in a strongly run race Maximian came into the short straight in only fifth or sixth place but quickened impressively and although he failed by a neck to catch fellow debutant Dubai Dream this pair came 5 lengths clear of the rest of the field.
