NUWAIES LOOKS GOOD ON HER DEBUT

Al Shaqab’s Nuwaies made an impressive winning debut at Bordeaux Le Bouscat on November 7th. The two year old daughter of Iffraaj and Fairly Fair was always travelling easily in the newcomers race over 1900 metres and once given her head the Jean Claude Rouget trained filly quickened clear to win unchallenged by 3 lengths and 2 1/2 lengths.

Nuwaies was bred by the Haras de Saint Pair and sold at the 2016 Arqana October sale to Mandore for 250.000 euros.

On the same day another debutant from a Saint Pair family finished a promising second over a mile at Kempton in England. Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani’s Podemos, a two year old son of Shamardal and the Monsun mare Pearls or Passion, made all the running and was only caught and passed by the more experienced Bow Street in the final stages of a maiden race. Pearls Or Passion is a daughter of Pearly Shells and won the Listed Prix Panacee in the colours of Saint Pair in 2013. She was sold to Richard Knight Bloodstock for 600.000 guineas at the Tattersalls December sale the same year.
