PAREO GOES TO TUNISIA

Pareo, the Haras de Saint Pair’s six year old son of Galileo and the champion Pearly Shells, was sold at the Arqana February sale and will take up stallion duties in Tunisia. Pareo was purchased by Zied Romdhane for 22.000 euros.

Pareo won twice and was placed ten times from 14 career starts and was rated 46 kilos or 101 at his best. His dam Pearly Shells won the Group 1 Prix Vermeille and was the third top rated three year old filly in Europe in 2002. Pearly Shells has seven foals of racing age, six runners and six winners including the Group winner Pearl Banks and the Listed winner Pearls or Passion who was sold for 600.000 guineas at the 2013 Tattersalls December sale. Pearly Avenue, a four year filly by Anabaa, has won one of her four starts to date and is in training with Francois Rohaut as is her unraced three year old colt Palmetto by Oasis Dream. Pearly Shells has a yearling colt by Dubawi and is in foal to Holy Roman Emperor.
