PEARLS GALORE GROUP PLACED ON SEASONAL REAPPEARANCE

The Haras de Saint Pair’s four year old filly Pearls Galore finished third in the Group 3 Ballycorus Stakes over seven furlongs at Leopardstown on June 10th. The daughter of Invincible Spirit and the Pivotal mare Pearl Banks now has two wins and two places from seven career starts and this was her second Group performance as she finished second in the Group 3 Fairy Bridge Stakes over 7 1/2 furlongs at three.

Trained since she was a three year old by Paddy Twomey Pearls Galore was making her seasonal reappearance and taking on colts and geldings as well as her own sex. Under jockey Billy Lee Pearls Galore travelled well behind the leaders through the first part of the race, and after being outspeeded for a moment at the top of the straight  stayed on well to the line to secure third place behind Real Appeal and Lord of the Lodge.

Pearls Galore is the fourth winner and third Group/stakes performer produced by her dam Pearl Banks, herself a Group winner over 2200 metres. Her earlier foals included the Listed winner Pearly Steph and the Group 3 winner Lucky Lycra. Pearl Banks is a daughter of the French Champion filly Pearly Shells and comes from the same emale family as this year’s dual Classic winner St Mark’s Basilica. Pearl Banks has a two year old Dark Angel filly Pearls Angel in training with Francois Rohaut for the Haras de Saint Pair and a yearling colt by Shalaa.
