PELLIGRINA MAKES A WINNING DEBUT

Pelligrina made a comfortable winning debut over 2100 metres at Saint Cloud on May 13th. Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani’s home bred daughter of Soldier Hollow and Pearls Or Passion was always going smoothly and quickened clear of her of 13 unraced rivals to win by 1 1/4 lengths without being hard pressed in the hands of PC Boudot.

Pelligrina is the second foal of her dam, a stakes winning daughter of Monsun and the champion Pearly Shells. Pearls or Passion raced in the colours of the Haras de Saint Pair and was sold out of training for 600.000 guineas at the Tattersalls December sale. Her first foal is the stakes placed Shamardal gelding Podemos. She has a two year old filly by Teofilo and a colt foal by Soldier Hollow.

The Saint Pair yearlings include a Kendargent colt out of Pearly Shells as well as a Le Havre colt out of Pearly Steph, who is a grand daughter of Pearly Shells. The stud has also retained Pearl Banks, a Group winning Pivotal half sister to Pearls or Passion who is the dam of the stakes winner Pearly Steph.
