RAIL LINK GOES CLOSE
The Haras de Saint Pair’s Bugie d’Amore is one of the two Group winners to date from Rail Link’s first crop of three year olds. Juddmonte’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner did however come close to adding to his tally of black type winner during the July 14 weekend. Last Train, who is a half brother to Frankel’s dam Kind, was beaten only a head by Imperial Monarch in the 1 1/2 mile Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp on July 14, and then on the same day Bit By Bit, a daughter of the Linamix mare Lixian, was third in the 1 1/2 mile Listed Prix de Thiberville.
Bugie d’Amore was fifth in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal AScot over a mile on her last start and may step up in trip in the future and has been entered in the ten furlong Group 3 Prix de Psyche in Deauville. All of Rail Link’s three year old winners to date have come over further than a mile and 85% of them have been over ten furlongs or further.
