ROERO STEPS UP AGAIN
After winning the Grand Handicap des Milers at Longchamp in May the Haras de Saint Pair’s Roero stepped up again when finishing a close second in the Listed Prix Jacques de Bremond at Vichy on July 20. The four year old gelding by Acclamtion out of Ricine was always travelling well and only just failed to catdh the long time leader Sommerabend, finishing 1/2 length behind the German trained colt. Roero now has five wins and five places from 14 career starts for total earnings of 185.257 euros.
Roero is one of only two foals produced by Ricine, a Group 3 winner for Saint Pair herself. She also has an unraced three year old Pivotal filly Porthilly in training with John Hammond. Between them the Haras de Saint Pair and 6 C Racing had bred the winners of 11 races in France up to July 20 for total earnings of 497.800 as well as breeder’s premiums of 67.641 euros.
