VIA MANZONI IMPRESSES AGAIN
Via Manzoni maintained her unbeaten record with a comfortable 2 1/2 length victory in the Prix de la Plaisanterie over 1600 metres at Chantilly on September 3. The Haras de Saint Pair’s two year old Monsun filly was always prominent and quickened away from her eight rivals to win easily and confirm the impression of her winning debut at the same track in July. The Andre Fabre trained filly is likely to make her next start in a Group race, and is entered in the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac at the Arc weekend.
Via Manzoni is the fifth winner from the first six foals of Via MIlano, which also include the Group winner Via Medici, the stakes performer Fifth Commandment and the three year old Corso Como, who is due to run in a stakes race in Marseilles in September. She has a yearling colt by Shamardal, Lot 671 in the Tattersalls October 2 sale, presented by Stauffenberg Bloodstock on Monday, October 13.
