VOLFANGO LOOKS READY TO FULFIL HIS PROMISE

The Haras de Saint Pair’s Volfango, a four year old half brother to the Group 1 winner Vadamos, made a brilliant return to the races at Chantilly on March 31st. The four year old son of Dutch Art was held up while the Simon Chrisford trained Archetype made the early running in a conditions race over 1600 metres on the all weather track.

Brought alongside the leader at the top of the straight by jockey Aurelian Lemaitre Volfango soon quickened clear to win comfortably by 2 lengths from Archetype, who finished 2 1/2 lengths in front of the remainder of the field. Archetype, a Le Havre colt, has on official rating of 104 and so this was an impressive performance from the Freddy Head trained Volfango and he is set to run in black type races in the future.

Volfango’s dam Celebre Vadala is currently in foal to Dubawi and has a two year old New Approach filly Vadivina in training with Andre Fabre.
