VOLFANGO REPEATS IN CAGNES LISTED

The Haras de Saint Pair’s Volfango, a six year old son of Dutch Art, came from behind to win the 1600 Listed Prix Saonois at Cagnes sur Mer on February 15th. The half brother to the Group 1 winner and stallion Vadamos was held up at the rear and for the second consecutative year he came with a late run under Maxime Guyon to win comfortably by 3/4 length and a length from the Irish challenger Bowerman and Rocquemont. The Fabrice Veumeullen trained colt now has 6 wins from 17 starts and earnings of 222.000 euros. He is likely to make his next start in the All-Weather Championships Mile at Lingfield in April.

Celebre Vadala has produced five winners to date including Celenza the dam of Group winner Tornibush as well as Vadamos and Volfango. Saint Pair has two of her daughters; the winning New Approach mare Vadivina who visits Siyouni in 2020 and Valloria, a two year old Dubawi filly in training with Jean Claude Rouget.
